MAINTENANCE & COMPLIANCE

Ensuring your fire protection equipment is well-maintained is crucial to the safety of you, your family and your guests. At DG Electrical & Fire, we have plenty of experience inspecting, maintaining and servicing a broad range of systems throughout Kiama and the South Coast.

Our inspections, servicing and maintenance of your fire protection equipment is carried out in accordance with a variety of Australian Standards, to ensure the fire safety systems installed in your building and plant are functioning as designed. The routine inspection intervals of fire systems include weekly, monthly, 3-monthly, 6-monthly and annually, with some items requiring more detailed inspections at 2, 3 and 5-yearly.

The most common types of equipment, including portable fire extinguishers, fire hose reels, exit signs and emergency lights, require 6-monthly inspections. Most buildings require the owner to provide the local council and fire brigade with an Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS) every 12 months, which provides documented evidence that all the fire systems are up to date and functioning as intended.

DG Electrical & Fire can provide routine inspection, maintenance, repairs and certification for the following equipment:

  • Council Statements (AFSS)
  • Building surveys
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Pressure testing & recharge
  • Fire hose reels
  • Exit & emergency lights
  • Hydrant systems
  • Hydrant flow & pressure testing
  • EWIS systems
  • Mechanical air handling
  • Evacuation procedures & plans
  • Fire shutters
  • Safety audits
